A local New Jersey technology firm helped National Geographic track down an Afghan 
woman, or "THE" Afghan girl as they refer to her, they featured on their cover 17 
years ago.  They used iris-recognition technology to prove it is her, giving it a 
1-in-100 million chance that they're wrong.

It's a shame that they don't have the pictures of her posted to the site.  This woman, 
who is maybe thirty, looks more like she's fifty after the hard life she's had.  She 
was this stunningly pretty little girl, and now she's haggard and drawn.  It gives you 
a little insight into exactly how rough things are there.  National Geographic is 
doing her life story, and it will air on MSNBC.
