Thank you for that recommendation. I did go (managed to hand Sammy off
to Dan for the hour) and I really, really enjoyed it. In fact, it was
one of only 2 readings I managed to get to (and no panels this time);
the other was Tom Knowles, which I'm sure most of you haven't heard of,
who has a book coming out later this year about the Texas Rangers (the
law enforcement officials, NOT the baseball team) which I may ask for
for Christmas.
Gaiman has a children's book coming out in the UK later this year. No
US release date can be found on amazon.com, so I'm guessing it won't be
released here until next year, at least. I'm going to try to order a
copy from the UK for the friend who went with me to the reading, to give
it to her for Christmas. It's called _Coraline_. An abridged audio
version will be available here, though. (The whole thing would take
about 3 hours to read, based on the fact that after starting at the
beginning and reading for an hour, he closed the book and announced that
that was exactly a third of the book.)

who may not be entirely coherent right now -- something about Sammy
being awake most of the day and not wanting to go to bed when I put him
down awhile ago
