This is something that's been bothering me for a while. Its a bit of a nit and
if it doesn't bother anyone else I'll just shut up. Changing subject headings
for no apparent reason. If the subject heading is This Week in the Middle East
and we're still talking Middle East politics, why change the subject heading?
The reasons it bothers me are (1) I like to sort by subject heading and read all
the correspondence in that heading at once. If someone has responded to a
subject and changes the heading, that breaks up the continuity of the
discussion. (2) If someone has changed a subject heading it makes it more
difficult to go back and read previous posts on the subject - if for instance a
quoted post is referenced but the quote is snipped and I'd like to read the
whole post.

I have no problem with changing the subject header if the subject really has
changed, this happens all the time, but if the subject hasn't really changed,
and especially if you are responding to a previous post on that subject, what
say we leave the heading alone?

Just a friendly request...
