It's referenced in Egan's _Permutation City_, for example, and is probably the inspiration for the eponymous effect in Stephenson's _Snow Crash_. The Basilisk is an image that will crash the human mind. I just though that the ability of a single word to induce nausea, an effect that seems to me quite remarkable, might be a useful stepping stone on the path to such a Basilisk.)
