Back in my Intel days, we were REQUIRED to test server performance on high-end servers. We had to install various Game server software products, then plug them into the Internet. The network card testers, and the pc system board testers were REQUIRED to do game testing as well... At one point, 75% of all traffic to the Internet from Intel orginated from our 'little game server'. we also had to test WAN traffic using RSVP, by... well.. playing games across the network.
