Who needs a dwarf star? Larry Niven had a way to do this in _A_World_Out_Of_Time_. Just find a way to move Neptune around so that you can steal the Earth away from its current orbit and put it in a nice close oribit around Jupiter. Meanwhile, add some significant mass to Jupiter so that it will radiate heat and maybe light. We won't have to worry about the sun's nova any more, and could buy another several billion years if done right... -- Matt
