A month or two ago, Julia on list list referred to the Dragonriders of Pern
stories as a gateway drug into sci-fi. As I recall, there were more than a
few of the rest of us that agreed (me included).
At that time, I promised I'd let everyone know what my wife thought of the
latest McCaffrey Pern novel as soon as she bought it and read it. I though
that would be early March. Well, we finally own it now, and the review (as
spoiler-free as I can make it) is forthcoming.
