In Rome the senate's president, Marcello Pera, said it "very probably" appeared to be a terrorist attack, but immediately after, RAI state TV said the plane had apparently radioed an SOS because of engine trouble. Italian state television said the crash put a hole in the 25th floor of the building, a modern building near the central train station. Smoke poured from the opening. Police and ambulances rushed to the building in downtown Milan. No further details were immediately available. � 2002 The Associated Press
