Dreamship music fuses serenity with subtle power, never overbearing but at the ready, sometimes unleashed, like a tidal bore only to recede back into tranquil seas. There is a wonderfully ethereal quality to this music that defies labeling. When one considers the name, I guess this should come as no surprise, yet, it's worth mentioning because it's done so well! > Then there's the substance factor, that rare slice of the musical pie so typically absent in contemporary music. There is a message in each number communicating both thought and emotion, the kind of stuff that plays to the soul not just the ear. After all, music should be experienced as well as heard. Personally, I find this recording to be an absolutely stellar first effort! > The guitar work...exhibits both skill and style. Searing leads accompany magical pieces and melodious chords suddenly erupt into driving riffs...Damn!! I love it! Style and class rule here, not flashy showmanship! And the singing is such a splendid match for the music! No fluff here, just an honest assessment. > Chris B > ********************* > Combining virtuoso playing with accessible songwriting, Dreamship sails in carrying a cargo of smart yet never overwrought tunes. Plenty of wild contrapuntal, classical-styled interplay between the guitar and keyboard is spun around strong, hauntingly sung melodies... all delivered with a casual ease and exuberance which avoids any hint of the melodramatic self-importance often associated with prog-rock. If your tastes run anywhere from Bowie to Metallica to The Beatles, give these guys a listen. Highly recommended. > Stark > ********************* > Can't say just how much I enjoyed this wonderful, truly beautiful music. This is soul-touching ...the stuff of dreams. Both cuts are great: I bought the cd having heard My Machine Alive but am head over heels with The Crysal Stream. > Cynthia P > ********************* > > > *************************************************************
