Thanks Jim. One of the traditions of Spider-Man is that Peter spends long periods of time agonizing over how close he should get to the girls in his life (Betty Brant, Gwen Stacy, MJ), often infuriating them in the process. While it's clear MJ has a clue about Peter's identity at the end of this first movie, I think they've set up the possibility for lots of good emotional tension in the next two. It would make sense to combine Betty and MJ to a certain degree to keep the tension going there. A Gwen-like character could be added who enters PP's life while he's equivocating over MJ, someone PP cares for in spite of himself, whom he fails to save. Also, Spider-Man has lots of climactic battles on top of the Brooklyn Bridge (I think it's the Brooklyn...not 100% sure) -- so it would make sense for another big scene to happen there.
