I think we need to further discuss moving this mailing list, now that
Eileen will be leaving Cornell shortly and has not found another sucker...
er... volunteer <GRIN> there to become primary listowner.

I am in favour of letting Nick Arnett host the mailing list, for several
reasons. He has the necessary hardware, software and knowledge to do it. He
is not going to charge money for it, and offers an ad-free service. He has
also offered to host Brin-L.com and is getting involved with the Great
Brin-L Archive.

The first question is: what e-mail address do we choose for the mailing
list? [EMAIL PROTECTED] has been offered, but it might also be nice to
have something like [EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED] Any
comments and/or suggestions?

The second question is the starting date. He has offered to host Brin-L.com
and has provided the needed IP address for DNS, but he will be moving in
about two weeks and has indicated that the IP address might change. For
that reason I am inclined to postpone the hosting till after his move. I
also need to inform Namezero.com and let them change the IP address for
DNS, which may take a while. (I have no experience in that field with
Namezero.com -- does anyone else?)

The starting date also depends on the question of till which date we can
maintain the list at Cornell. Eileen?

Finally, there is the issue of my own vacation. We are going on vacation
next month, which means I will not be available between June 10 and June
25. As I am closely involved with all this, I would like to have either
everything up and running before I go on vacation, or wait till I return.
Of course, the latter will depend on how long we can keep the list on
Cornell's server.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is time to make some decisions.
