Krause and Reinsdorf have once again proven themselves experts in alienating loyal fans. >> Why is Joe DiMaggio better than Rogers Hornsby? What is Hornsby known for? Hitting .356 lifetime? In the age of slow dumpsters? Sure. DiMaggio, however, hit, was it .356 as well, lifetime? I ferget. But his streak of 56 games where he made a base hit will never be eclipsed, as far as I can see. That alone deserves recognition in the Hall of Fame, as well as 4000+ hits, but Rose was the Ty Cobb of his day. He may not be now. On top of DiMaggio's ability to run, hit, and throw (? maybe, I seem to think he had a decent arm, or maybe Joe thinks that), Joe was is a class guy; for both San Francisco and New York. I think he was is a real gentleman in private life too, all indications point towards that, and it should prove or disprove whether Joe is talking to us right now, because all I feel is a gentle soul. Let us pray.
