Don't remember what the original subject line was. The owner of the computer went to the fix it place and they gave her the repair for $220, no labor charge. Duron 800Mhz CPU and a MSIK7T-PRO2/A motherboard, which is about the right price, from what I see on the net.
I didn�t get a reply on what caused the failure so the mystery will remain. In fact things were deleted from the hard drive that shouldn�t have been like Word and the cable modem drivers, but the computer owner was just too tired to fight with the store owner. I�m going to check the set up tonight, make sure everything is okay. Thank you though for the arguments to use against the repair cost and other help. Kevin T. Birthday weekend!
