Industrial espionage is fine, as I've said before, but medical technology should be open to the scrutiny of the public and shared between research centers. The reasoning is that this technology directly saves lives and improves the quality of life. Also, if something weird pops up that can be traced to medical technology, it will be that much easier to detect and trace.
