Let me take a stab at it.

What bothers me is that someone is deliberatly trying to provoke the
community in an attempt for attention. Is manipulative at best, and it
really pushes my buttons. There's little doubt in my mind that its
disruptive and deliberate behavior, and regardless of its motivation, be
it performance art, depression, or just plain spite, it deserves some
amount of censure. Being disagreeable or snarky is one thing - heck,
I'm gulty of -that-... Mark's trangression is 6-weeks of continual and
deliberate provocation of the list. Not only have list rules been
broken, but his posts have also included death threats, sexual innuendo
bordering on harrassment, and because he never responds to conversations
except with more non sequiters, of null content.

That's what I think is wrong.
