Married a 13 year old girl, after a lengthy relationship. A 13 year old girl just IM'ed me, in the dating game fashion. This is a problem, any ideas?
Mine: 1) Talk to your children, let them know that adult things are adult things, even show them a soft porno, or a glimpse of it. I certainly saw playboy's in my dad's room when I was young. It satisfied my curiosity, probably in the best possible way. 2) Banning or censorship just makes kids make the wrong kind of friends, in order to satisfy their curiosity, because there will always be Eddie Haskell waiting, saying, "I'll be your friend!" 3) Monitoring is fantastic, and a little script that sends duplicates of e-mail or chat sessions to your own mail seems good. Kids won't mind if they don't know, and they're just kids. You might even enjoy bringing back the old writing for laughs later on in life.
