The best novel I've read recently is David Mitchell's _number9dream_. It's borderline-sf (it's set in the near future although there are no significant sf elements) about a guy who goes to Tokyo to find his father and the adventures he has in the city. It's a dazzling, kaleidoscopic novel that's by turns exciting, moving, scary and funny. I couldn't ask for more from a book. Rich GCU Highly Recommended
