How can we justify nullifying the results of a democratic election in a single other country without thereby opening the floodgates to the questioning the validity of a myriad of "bad" elections elsewhere in the world, many far more questionable than the election that approved Arafat. Is there any info on how shady or not shady that election was? What's to stop someone else in the world saying, "Boy, that whle Florida thing sure was shady.." We have to live in the world and share the resposibilities we place upon everyone else, not simply say, "Oh, we're Americans, we've a special dispensation from the Rules." Would I accept a 98% election in Cuba? Yes, if international monitors reported a clean bill of health for the election. -j-
