I agree. I like the critter pictures, but I would like to see more general pictures and info. Hopefully, the upcoming revised GURPS Uplift will fill in more of those gaps. > B) Color plates, not just black & white drawings. I figured they would at least have the color painting of the Thennanin I have on my site. Even though they decided to go with a Jim Burns painting for the cover illustration, I wish they'd put it and more pictures in a small section of color plates in the middle. Jim Burns *has* pretty much become the official Uplift cover artist in the US, so I can understand why they made that decision. A fan can just glance at a Jim Burns cover, with high-tech dolphins and/or chimps, and know it's an Uplift book. The Thennanin painting isn't nearly as recognizable. > Maybe the second is only because it's the kind of thing I > dig, and I have the means to possess, but seeing as this > was supposed to come out some time ago, I was a teeny bit > disappointed. I love those guide things. I also own the Ringworld guide book -- which was just a distillation of info from the Chaosium Ringworld RPG, but still cool. ______________________________________________________________________ Steve Sloan .........
