I've had some close calls on bikes, both pedal and motor, but today was the worst. On a city street, ie 2 lanes, parking on street, ect., a car passes me and starts verring right into a parking space. My front wheel was even with the back door. I start yelling and grabbing brakes (I was going 15-17 MPH) Luckily the curb was low and I was able to jump the front wheel onto sidewalk. The back wheel wasn't as lucky, dent in rim and blown tire. The women driver was yammering away on her cell phone. I'm waiting for my heart to make it's choice: explode or slow down. She gets out, still talking, and I give her some choice words. She denied she did anything wrong.
Other things happened, a policeman witnessed her parking and driving me up onto the curb. Gives her just a warning, which made me madder, then he doesn't even offer to drive me to my house (which I would have refused anyway, but still) I made it home after fixing tire, going through waves of nerves and anger. I'm better now. Kevin T. Is it Friday yet?
