When the subject of books to reada comes up outside Brin-L, I usually suggest SR and TUW as the first ones to read, then to go back to Sundiver as a sort of prequel.
What's interesting, and something we talked about briefly, is that he's returned to the mystery novel, in a way, with Kiln People.
