It's funny you say that about football. Watching the pro's now it does seem like a big mess on the field. So fast and swarming. I watch an old college game and the blocks are crisp and the movement is scripted, almost like a ballet (did I just say that?) One time I saw a baseball game on TV where they had just one camera up behind home plate that showed the whole field. You saw everything, players moving around, different positions for different hitters, everyone moving when the ball was hit. It was neat. I think now the announcers and the editors think too much about what's going on, and always talk about it too much. I hate listening to 98% of the games on TV. Kevin T. Chess anyone?
