We have a pool where you pay $25 and are given $20,000 in Monopoly Money to play against the point spread for the whole season. Whomever has the most Monopoly Money at the end of the season wins the pool (with token awards for 2nd-4th). You can bet from 0 to 1/2 your money each week. The betting strategy I have employed up until now was to take one bet each week and bet 1/3 of my money on it. If I won, great. If I lost, then I could still bet 1/2 my money the next week to make the two weeks a wash. Thus, I would only be hosed if I lost on consecutive weeks. Well, after losing on consecutive weeks enough, I made my first bets of the season this week and bet half my money, spread in $2,000 bets on five games.
