Thanks for the research. I'd for one would never have found all the info. > >[Sonja] I find that > > > insulting to my intelligence. Yes, indeed. I know there is no vaccine for Neisseria menigitidus type B. But I was referring to it because that is the one that is more wide spread then the Nm type C variant of the disease. The Nm type C however is the one that they want to vaccinate for. It is currently added to the list of required nation wide vaccinations. All children from the age of 1 and up are vaccinated in the current nationwide campaign. I'm just worried because the vaccine is so new and the threat (although the disease is a killer) is a limited one if you are aware of the disease and alert to the symptoms. > Meningococcus has several variant types, one of which > is type C. The vaccine used in The NL is new and called "NeisVac-CT". It is intended to vaccinate against Nm_type C and only Nm_type C. It is made by Baxter in Austria. > >From the CDC: > "Four vaccines protect against some, but not all, of > the bacteria that cause meningitis. I don't know which one it is equal to. Can you help? Sonja _______________________________________________ http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l
