Though such behavior might be more physically painful, I doubt it could be much more irritating than that of the rent-a-nag I got at a state park near here who had it in his head that he was going to turn around and go back to the stable no matter what I or the other people riding with me that day did, which made for a very slow trip because every few steps the horse would try to stop and turn around . . .
