Well, proper diet and exercise would prevent many of
the health problems besetting Americans today, but
it's more fashionable to take pills...at least until
the ill effects come out!  (Frex, that smokers who
took beta carotene pills had *worse* rates of lung
cancer than the controls (Finnish study several years
ago, IIRC).  Of course, foods like carrots and yams
have multiple carotenoid compounds, not just one, and
it seems to me that the more variety in the
antioxidants one consumes, the better - but that's
just my opinion.)

Since it's an herbal and not a "pharmaceutical drug,"
that could well happen, but I wouldn't recommend it to
people until proper human studies are done.  And while
the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of
Chicago (where the research was done) is not Johns
Hopkins, it isn't Grenada either.  :)
