Well, at least that sounds more appealing than the
(IIRC) former NYC mayor's quip: "If it's yellow let it
mellow, if it's brown flush it down."  :)

Colorado is also in the grip of the worst drought in
nearly 100 years; unless the snowpack this winter is
better-than-usual, severe water restrictions will
probably be started in the spring (moderate
restrictions were imposed this past summer).  It
doesn't help that so many lawns are Kentucky Bluegrass
(ie. water-guzzling), despite this being a semi-arid
region.  :(

I noticed that golf courses managed to get exemptions,
and new sod/seed was _still_ being laid in new
subdivisions.  :P

The entire Western US, as well as parts of the East,
are in drought.  Here is a map:
