Iraq Assembly Rejects UN Demand

BAGHDAD, Iraq, Nov. 12 � Iraq�s parliament on Tuesday unanimously
recommended rejection of a U.N. resolution strengthening the mandate of
international arms inspectors, but said the final decision would be left to
President Saddam Hussein. The rejection came despite pressure from Saddam�s
politically influential son, Odai, to accept the U.N. demand. According to
the terms of the resolution, Baghdad has until Friday to indicate its final
decision.
