According to ABC News tonight, President Bush - two years away from the
next election no less - is raising the fuel efficiency standards for SUV's
by 1.5 miles/gallon.

And that very same report said that several environmental groups said that 1.5 mpg is a miniscule amount that will have little to no impact on lowering pollution levels or correcting / lessening the environmental damage to our air caused by large numbers of SUV combustion engines.

Good news? Yep. Let's see them institute a change in fuel efficiency standards that will actually be more than a throw-away gesture and we all might breathe easier. (pun intended).
