Buy the wire at a hardware store or steal an awful lot of wire coat hangers.

Build a frame to hold a rod with a crank if you want to be anal traditional,
or attach the rod to a drill if you want to do it quickly. Use a second rod
to relieve tension if working with thicker wire.

14 ga is usually 3/8" to 5/16" rod

16 ga can be 1/4" rod

Coil the wire without too many errors of having the wire loop back on ya.

Thick wire needs a set of cross snip bolt cutters. [Todd is a good brand name]

16 ga wire can be cut with some types of tin snips.

Two pliers, one heavier than the other. Open wider a big stack of rings, and
close a big stack of rings. The heavier pliers is your anchor and you move
the lighter set of pliers.

Slip four closed rings onto one open ring and close it. Repeat 500 to 1,000
times.
You now have 500 "bobs".

Slip an open ring on two rings of one bob and two rings of another. Close and
you've started a chain.

Now you need a table top. Use open rings to bring two chains together. Now
you have to pay attention to the hang.

((((
)))) this is correct. The rings lay tight.

Turn it sideways and the rings fall to make bigger holes to see through. This
is not the correct way to hang chainmail.

For a suit, make two long strips to hang off of the shoulders. Measure the
space left between the two strips on your stomach and back and make a pad to
fit each.ame Use twist ties or such to make where to put it. Make certain
the row count up is the same on both strips.

Now you have to learn how to widen and taper. You'll have some rings that
will go through 5 rings instead of four. Two on top and three on the bottom
starts a new row, but you have to do it a second time if you want to use a
chain of bobs.

For tailoring, hang a chain off of your shoulder attached only at the top of
the shoulder strip. Measure with your arm raised. You'll see that the
shoulder strip angles in, but the chain hangs straight. You have to add rows
in a triangular piece until you have a straight bottom big enough to go back
to attaching long strips. When both the front and back hang straight, you can
then make the two side pieces for the same height as the chest and back
pieces. The suit is going to be finished from the belt line both upwards and
down.

A belt is usually used to take weight off of the shoulders. Plan the length
accordingly.

Closed sleeves gets a bit too detailed to describe without pictures.

Enough instructions for ya?

If you drink ground coffee, you can ignore the Pringles cans.
