When I first read it over 30 years ago, I liked it a lot but didn't rate it
up with "Moon is a Harsh Mistress."  I haven't reread it in ages, and don't
feel a great desire to.  I don't think it is total dross, but I would
reread "Citizen of the Galaxies" before that.  Thinking back, I believe it
is mixed.  If you accept the premise, the story isn't a bad one, until the
weak ending.  It has a lot of stuff going on and had the potential to be
great. But, it missed that mark.
