Oooh, I think you're right!  (But it *is* typical of
me that the cover I'd remember first has a horse on
it... :D )

I never read _Little Town'_, or several others (First
4, Happy Golden etc) so I missed the episode with the
kittens... 

My best friend and I, after reading about the incident
with the Indians and the prairie fire, not only gave
ourselves 'Indian' names, but had a newcomer girl
convinced that we were adopted 'off the reservation.' 
(Well, also after seeing Disney's "Tonka Wakan" (sp?)
about the lone survivor of Custer's debacle - the
horse Comanche.)   ;)
