I dunno, of all the fantasy books I ever read of his (which are many but not all) I felt Tigana was the BEST of the lot, and that's saying much...I'd also recommend anything by Guy Gavriel Kay. His later stuff is best, but a Swords'n'Sorcery fanatic would better start with _Tigana_. He writes fantasy, without the "coming of age, promised a great destiny" crap that makes Fantasy seem like a geek's Harlequin romance.
