Almost everything in http://www.theculture.org/adastra/ was written by me. A few of the pages were written by or include material written by my friend Dave Dye. We started work on Ad Astra about ten years ago and more or less stopped writing it five or six years ago. Unfortunately, it varies wildly in writing quality and is obviously incomplete, but I've moved on to other projects and don't have time to fix it. I think Ad Astra is more obviously influenced by Kim Stanley Robinson than it is by Banks. There's a detailed list of influences in the Designers' Notes section.
