I thought that might be what you meant, but then I thought in that case you might have said "latest" rather than "last," so I asked in case you had heard something I didn't. I didn't recall seeing anything in the latest one that implied it was last one. Of course, I couldn't come up with the title "Narcissus" when I was writing my reply, either.
I've been reading them in order for the past few weeks. I hadn't heard anything about her ending the series.
As I said, neither had I, which was why I wondered why you used the word "last" rather than "latest."
Of course, if you felt anything like I have for the past day and a half or so, you might have typed "potrezbie" and it would have made perfect sense to you when you typed it. Which may well have been why I misinterpreted your message, and definitely is why this and any other messages I've written since yesterday may not make much sense, either . . .
Have you read them?
Most of them. I think there are still a couple of the earlier ones I haven't been able to locate and read yet.
Have you read any of her new series: IIRC the first two have come out, and their titles completely escape me at the moment also? I must say after reading them, as well as the last few Anita Blake books, that Ms. Hamilton has managed to acquire a remarkable amount of knowledge concerning subjects I had virtually no idea existed--even after reading "Adventures of A Video Store Clerk" . . .

I always knew that I would see the first man on the Moon.
I never dreamed that I would see the last.
