In the rules: The course will be cleared of non-competing motor vehicles. Obedience to traffic signs, signals, conventions, and rules is not required. Chase vehicles follow with emergency stop switch. So basically, this is a dummied down autonomous car. Maps and GPS can be loaded into the onboard computer, but it can't stop and ask for directions.
