Actually, Bush's last state of the union speech (2002) had, and I'm
quoting from memory, about 37 or 39 promises.  Clinton usually averaged
around 100.

Amazing, if a laundry list is amazing. I would have preferred some
indication that there had been some serious thought put into whether and
how all those things could be accomplished. A more modest list with some
hope of making real progress on most of the items would have been more
compelling.
