However, could US airlines implement all the same procedures El Al does and also maintain the current level of traffic? And if we have to cut back drastically on air traffic to implement security procedures (and/or increase ticket prices to the point where many who would like to fly cannot afford it), doesn't that count as a victory for the terrorists?
