Haley's Helpful Hints says to use an absorbent paper towel and an iron on low setting. Place the paper towel on the wax, and place the iron on the towel. Remove after a few seconds, and some of the wax will have transferred to the paper towel. Repeat as necessary. During a recent PBS pledge drive, Mr. Haley demonstrated this technique, live. Your mileage may vary, however.

I seem to recall something about ironing over a paper bag (that would absorb
it), but I would wait for someone to validate that before trying it

While we're on the topic, does anyone have any helpful hints on removing
spilled candle wax from carpet?
