Thanks for saying so... but I'm mostly replying to point out that so far,
we've both survived.  No, that's not it.  I wanted to ask if you're read
"Darwin's Radio."  If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the speculative
science underlying it.  There's certainly an intriguing notion of
species-as-computer, storing evolutionary, uh, ideas, through time, as an
explanation for sudden changes.  I'm not wondering the scenario in the story
is credible, but if the science behind it makes much sense.  I keep
wondering how much the recent scientific "history" in the book is accurate.
