Following up on my earlier message... It was most certainly the work I was
doing on the server. Eventually, I realized that there was a stale lockfile
for Mailman that was preventing it from starting up properly. One of my
upcoming tasks will be to whip up a gizmo that'll alert me when the list
software isn't doing its thing. Welcome to the new server! That kind of
delay should be quite rare once I get this thing completely configured.

I'm trying to think if there's a way I could show what's going on in the
various components, so there could be a web page that would show if there's
a bottleneck. But that would require knowing what kind of bottlenecks might
happen, and if I could do that, I could prevent them!

But rest assured that I'm watching the logs carefully as I work on the
machine. It's good to have a high-traffic list; helps me see right away if
there's a problem.

Always feel free to send a quick e-mail directly to me if things don't seem
to be working.

Nick
