I generally dislike them, but every once in a while I get a link to one that manages to *not* make me want to bathe my brain in acid by the end. I understand a labor of love, but it still amazes me that anyone would put this much effort into doing something "just because."
Case in point: http://www.electricfishmusic.com/ It is, of all things, a Rescue Rangers fan fiction. It has more adult themes than the cartoon (but not in that disturbing porno furry way), and at times like many other fanfics it takes itself a little *too* seriously. But you have to kind of admire a guy who writes, pencils, inks, letters, and occasionally colors/greyscales a two hundred thirty-one page graphic novel just to kill time between jazz gigs (yes, that's right, 231 pages). The guy's acutally a pretty darn good cartoonist, too. His perspective is good, and he's got a clean line. Sometimes his panels are too busy, but that's a minor quibble.
