I bought a set of bits several years ago that came with a molded rubber
holder that is shaped kind of like a (thin) matchbox with holes on the
largest face for the bits. It is by far the most compact and easy to use
holder I've seen, and two people who have seen it have said they wanted
one, too. Unfortunately, I can't remember where I got it (I do shop at
Home Depot frequently, which should be easy to try). I don't know if you
can buy it without the bits though (the rubber mold probably costs them
only cents to make)
