ROTFLMAO. That's why the US has puppet goverments in France and Germany,
right? If the US wanted to rule the world, it would have. For a few years
after the US developed the B52 bomber, it was in the position of winning
WWIII with minimal US casualties. It didn't even think of it. Why do you
think that European colonies were ended right after the US accepted the
role as the most powerful nation in the world?

Oil sales are about 1.4% of world GDP, for the average oil price of about
$24/barrel over the last few years. If one compares the effect of the
present spike in oil prices vs. the spike in the '70s, one would see how
minimal an effect we have. For example, a $10/barrel spike only adds about
0.6% to the overall inflation rate.

The _only_ way that is true is if one nation were to gain control enough so
that increases in production elsewhere could not make up the slack if oil
were cut off as a weapon. The one possibility of this was Hussein taking
over the Middle East, as he stated he wished to.

Out of curiosity, do you ever look at recent history before arriving at
conclusions? When the US simply oversees the selling of the oil and lets
the money from oil go into a trust fund to rebuild Iraq, will you admit
that you are wrong?
