Reminds me of a Louisiana governor's election in which David Duke, a 'former' Grand Dragon in the KKK, ran against Edwin Edwards, who had known Mafia ties (and was actually recently convicted for embezzling or similar mishandling of state funds, IIRC); bumper stickers proclaiming "Vote For The Crook - It's Important!" sprouted on many cars. ;-/ Isn't Politics Fun?
