Next time you pick up any pre-packaged/processed food,
check the ingredient list for anything beginning with
"hydrogenated."  These are saturated trans-fats (as
opposed to cis-); currently these are thought to be at
least as bad if not worse than 'natural' saturated
fats.

Some researchers speculate that it is the combination
of various phytochemicals that are protective, rather
than 1 or a few as taken as supplements.  IIRC, there
was a fairly recent north European study that found
supplemental Vit C and E (and possibly beta-carotene
too) not only didn't help prevent lung cancer in
smokers, but may have made the incidence slightly
worse.
