I'd like to point out that it doesn't take holding up signs saying "Exterminate Jews", or "Destroy Israel", to be anti-semitic; even the KKK is more subtle than that. That said, I don't think that sign is necessarily an indicator of anti-semitism, either, although it is an assinine comparison. But here is a bit better evidence. Here's a link I googled up: http://www.thenation.com/capitalgames/index.mhtml?bid=3&pid=385 Capital Games And after some more digging, I found this site, which, while apparently anti-war, has a lot of information about the ugly side of ANSWER (though not much directly about anti-semitism): http://authoritarianopportunistswhocozyuptogenocidaldictators-forpeace.org/ International R.E.S.P.O.N.S.E. :: Radicals Eager to See Peace On earth Not Sectarian Some highlights of their positions: Pro Saddam/anti-sanctions: http://www.workers.org/ww/2001/iraq0125.html Workers World Jan. 25, 2001: Delegates join Baghdad protest against U.S.-led aggression Pro-Slobodan Milosevic: http://www.workers.org/ww/2002/larry0228.php Workers World Feb. 28, 2002: Lessons of the imperialist charade at The Hague I watched part of an ANSWER "anti-war" rally on TV, and a few things were apparent to me: - how blatantly anti-US the rhetoric was (ie: not pro-peace, just "the US is the ultimate evil" kind of attitude), and how much the crowd cheered it on. - all the other unrelated issues they were tying-in with the anti-war movement, like black reparations. - how much the media coverage ignored all this. -Bryon _______________________________________________ http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l
