Which was fine when a UN sanction was likely. But now we face a different reality. In this new reality, Saddam has played the western press, the anti-globalists and the retreating Europeans with masterful skill, and has probably defeated any chance of a UN action to disarm him.
Now that the UN is not likely to get involved, but the US, Britain and Australia are, then "war protesters" are supporting Saddam.


Either we support his removal, or we support his continuing reign - we can't just say "Oh, if only there was another way"

BTW, by retreating Europeans, I mean those once great colonial powers who are no longer forces of world domination but are having a great deal of trouble reconciling themselves to the fact that they are now just another country in a community of many such countries.
