Yes, that's exactly it.....

Obviously, if following a Gulf War II, a Kurdistan is established, it would
be established from the territory of Iraq.   This would certainly be
considered the dismembering of a Muslim, Arab, State at the hands of a
Western imperialist.

Moreover, since Turkey is so vehemently opposed to the establishment of a
Kurdistan (given that they have far more Kurds than Iraq within their
borders), we would essentially be stabbing our most prominent Muslim ally
in the back.
