I can sympathize with that point of view. Some of the most obnoxious and
un-Christian-like Christians I've met have been walking around being certain
of who's going to heaven (themselves!) and who's not. The worst example of
this, at least in terms of my exposure to him, believed that if you
confessed Christianity once in your life, that was it, you were going to
Heaven, and if you never did, then well, you were going to Hell, and he
claimed that Hitler was in Heaven and Gandhi was in Hell on this basis.
Personally, I'd much rather be with Gandhi than Hitler.
